On Thursday 20th February, we left Lublin at 11:00 and drove to Rzeszow. I was only expecting a 2 hour drive but it was 2.5 hours so we were in a bit of a big rush as we had to get to the Salt Mine just outside of Krakow for 16:00! We did manage to have a nice lunch at D'Oro Ristorante in Rzeszow (£19.40 for our meals and soft drinks). This seemed to be a really great restaurant with an adult section on side and a big kids play area on the other. We didn't get a huge amount of time here but no complaints!

The plan was to leave the restaurant at 14:00 for the 1h30 drive from Rzeszow to Wieliczka Salt Mine which we just about managed! We drove to the 'tourist route' Daniłowicz Shaft. There seem to be lots of private car parks outside along the road and I parked here paying the ticket man in cash, I think 30zl.

Our Salt Mine tour in English was booked for 16:00 and was 236zl (£46) for the 2.5 hour tour. It was really interesting for adults, but lots of walking for kids! For Tiger I definitely preferred the salt mine in Sovata but it was still super interesting. We left around 18:30 for our final drive to Krakow which is just 25 minutes away!

Finally (phew!) after a long day of driving we arrived at our hotel in Krakow, Campanile Krakow Old Town which was £116 for 2 nights. The hotel did have some parking outside which belonged to them but it was full so we parked in their underground car park (a bit expensive at 240zl for our two day stay, £48). The room was simple but all we needed!

I then had a tight turnaround to get ready to (shock horror!) go out on my own with Sara Khalimova babysitting for us (whatsapp +4883449234). Sara and I had last met when I was in Krakow with my Dad and Tiger so it was lovely to see her again. For four hours the babysitting was 120zl (£24) so off I went into the freezing night!

I really did enjoy the experience with dinner and cocktails at Czeczotka (£36) but it was freezing cold (!) and I had a long day the next day to look forward to so got back a little earlier at 23:00 and into bed!
