Wrocław wonders

On Saturday 22nd February, our road trip was nearing its end with a drive from Krakow to Wrocław. This is about a three and a half hour drive so I thought I had this planned nailed with a drop at Park Miniatur Olszowa 1h45 away but although this did look amazing through a fence, it was closed! The photos are of the playground opposite in this very sleepy town!

Plans scuppered, we continued on for another 1h30 drive to our lovely hotel in Wrocław and arrived about 17:00. We drove straight to the Europeum Hotel (£63) which had its own underground car park (55 zl, £11) - convenient but a bit of a scary incline down and a tight car parking spot! Still, we made it and absolutely loved our room which had cuddly toys and colouring galore for Tiger!

At 18:00 we went out to the Old Town (about a 5 minute walk) and had a great meander around spotting some of the Wrocław dwarves (little statues) and even met Chase from Paw Patrol!

We chose an Italian restaurant for dinner right in the Old Town square, called Ristorante Pizzeria O Sole Mio (£38). Basically, spaghetti and ice cream are a winning formula right now for Tiger as much as there are so many other fabulous restaurants in Wrocław!

Sunday 23rd February, our last day, meant a lovely lie in at the hotel. We paid for breakfast and didn't check out until 11:00 then headed to the Aquapark Wrocław. We had bought all day tickets online for 159zl (£32), but you can save a little if you buy just a 2 hour ticket. This would have been enough for us too but I didn't really want the stress of the clock!

We left Wrocław at about 14:00 and drove to Poznan airport (2h20) to the Kiss N Fly return zone for our hire car. We were able to actually be at the desk when the bag drop opened at 16:50, dropped in our big silver case, and then went back to the car to return it. This worked really well and it was a smooth ride back to Stansted with Ryanair, departing at 18:50 and arriving at 20:00.

Upon landing back at London Stansted, and with a 2.5h drive home ahead of me, I was very glad to be able to pick up the car right outside the terminal at the Meet and Greet office, a seamless process. We finally got into our beds at 23:30. And that's a wrap! Thank you for an amazing 1500km road trip Poland. We will be back soon!
